Chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan regulates cell proliferation and morphology

Summary: Collagen and Hyaluronan are known to have many applications as cell culture materials to reflect microenvironment in vivo, but there are no sufficient reports on the application of chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan (CSPG) as a biomaterial. In this study, we focused on the regulation of receptor-type tyrosine kinase activity by CSPG and aimed to evaluate its potential as a biomaterial using multiple cell types. The morphological changes of cells due to the application of CSPS were also evaluated by live-cell  imaging.
