Aging skin symptoms such as wrinkles, sagging, and a decrease in firmness are caused by the degradation of the extracellular matrix (ECM) such as collagen in the dermis. Dermis with a degraded ECM becomes thinner, making the skin look thin. According to recent studies, the root cause of skin thinning is considered to be extracellular ATP produced by epidermal cells.
SpringMint may assist in the improvement of skin thinning by suppressing extracellular ATP, which is a cause of skin aging, and is excreted in the superficial layers of the skin.

Special production

SpringMint utilizes organic peppermint from the historic oasis city of Faiyum, Egypt as one of its ingredients.

Mechanism of extracellular
ATP skin thinning

In aging cells, extracellular release of ATP increases. ATP released into the extracellular environment is a factor that transmits stimulation. Aging cells stimulated by extracellular ATP exhibit the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) , secrete SASP-related factors and induce aging in surrounding cells. Fibroblasts in the dermis receiving these SASP-related factors secrete ECM degrading enzymes such as MMP, destroying the dermal layer and causing skin thinning of the dermis.
